Lawrie is an experienced journalist and marketing professional with extensive healthcare experience. Alongside working with some of the UK’s most popular healthcare magazines he works as a science, technology and digital journalist across Europe.

Lawrie has worked with healthcare organisations as a marketing manager and communications consultant encompassing all aspects of communication including reactive and proactive PR, managing marketing campaigns and producing annual reports and consultation documents.

Since 2010 he has established himself as an expert in digital communications within the NHS, working with primary care organisations, acute trusts and mental health trusts to shape their digital offer. This has included creating the NHS’s first interactive service finder on the iPhone and publishing an interactive Haynes manual.

Prior to working with Highland he has worked as marketing expert with a range of high-profile clients in a variety of sectors including defence, environment, local government and the charitable sector.

A successful history in client delivery, he takes pride in helping organisations tell their story.

A little bit about Lawrie:
  • Lawrie is a keen bass guitarist and in a previous life had a record deal, playing venues and festivals across Europe including the Royal Albert Hall. Since coming off the road, he continues to build and maintain guitars and has recently taken up the double bass.
  • Since leaving the world of rock and roll he’s taken up cycling, completing a stage of the Tour de France and competing in triathlons.
  • A committed foodie, he often works as a fishmonger on a Saturday morning honing his knife skills and learning valuable life lessons.
